Day 3 - Grand Canyon

We started the day with music which was great. We saw kindergarten students who were looking for the gingerbread man. We also sang the star spangled banner. We came back to class and did our morning work which includes calendar math, practice counts and word of the day. Next we went into our math lesson reviewing factors, which is part of our homework. After math we started the new science unit Earth History. We had a great discussion about how scientists observe the world around them and ask questions. We started the unit with a video that shows a lot of details about the grand canyon. After science we had lunch and when we came back we worked on our first two reading strategies, predicting/inferring and phonics/decoding. Then for ninja time we wrapped up all the work that we needed to finish including job applications.
