Day 66 - DIG

Today we came in at 9:00 and unpacked. Then at 9:04 we lined up to go to music. First in music we watched a little bit of the nutcracker video. Then we watched two people play the troll game. After music at 9:45 we came back to the classroom and we did word of the day and calendar math. Then we went over calendar math. After calendar math we started math. We wrote down our objectives for the day in our math spirals. At 10:30 we went out to recess. After recess at 10:45 we came back in and we got in partners of our choice to work on math problems that we converted decimals into fraction. After math we did science. First we named each variable with the clues that was given. Then we started working on step 3 of the scientific method. We did an experiment by putting drops of water on a penny, nickel, and a quarter. At 12:10 we went to lunch and recess. After lunch recess at 1:05 we came back in and we did literacy. First we got our “Wrinkle in Time” books. Then we read the first chapter and answered the questions. After literacy we started the project “DIG”. First in “DIG” we got our students guide. Then we read a little bit from the guide and we pretended we were archaeologists from Mars and we guessed things in American culture from a Mars person’s view. After “DIG” we had Ninja Time to get caught up on our work. Then at 3:25 we packed up and went home at 3:30.
